KARMA to LOANO
Monte Carmo with its 1389m asl (known as Loano to distinguish it from other Carmo mountains in Liguria) is the first true "alpine" peak in the Ligurian Alps, rocky and panoramic. Its summit offers one of the most spectacular panoramas of the entire western Ligurian: the proximity to the sea and the higher altitude than those of the surrounding peaks, so that, on clear days, the view of unobstructed spaces to the south on the Ligurian coast up to Corsica and north on the Piedmontese and Valle d'Aosta Alps.
Shuttle of about 30 minutes to the Melogno pass from which you ride for 50 minutes covering about 10 km and 150m uphill. Enter the Barbottina wood and continue westwards past the Casa Forestale. You reach the Giogo di Giustenice and continue the climb towards Monte Carmo for another 30 minutes.
Small portage section of 15 minutes to reach the summit (1389m s.l.m.) from which you can enjoy a truly breathtaking view, not only on the sea but also inland.
From here the Karma trail begins: a descent of about 9 km, long, technical and spectacular up to Verzi di Loano. The trail is characterized by a particularly rocky bottom where the biker passionate about technical terrain will surely find himself at ease.
From Verzi, we take the last part of the Castagna trail, the path is Top next to the Nimbalto stream with beautiful steps on rock and wooden bridges reaching Verzi village.
Downhill transfer on asphalt to Loano for lunch break.
In the afternoon only downhill, by choice (based on energy left, customer requests and trail conditions) one of the trails on Madonna della Giardia.
