KARMA to LOANO

Monte Carmo with its 1389m asl (known as Loano to distinguish it from other Carmo mountains in Liguria) is the first true "alpine" peak in the Ligurian Alps, rocky and panoramic. Its summit offers one of the most spectacular panoramas of the entire western Ligurian: the proximity to the sea and the higher altitude than those of the surrounding peaks, so that, on clear days, the view of unobstructed spaces to the south on the Ligurian coast up to Corsica and north on the Piedmontese and Valle d'Aosta Alps.

Shuttle of about 30 minutes to the Melogno pass from which you ride for 50 minutes covering about 10 km and 150m uphill. Enter the Barbottina wood and continue westwards past the Casa Forestale. You reach the Giogo di Giustenice and continue the climb towards Monte Carmo for another 30 minutes.

Small portage section of 15 minutes to reach the summit (1389m s.l.m.) from which you can enjoy a truly breathtaking view, not only on the sea but also inland.

From here the Karma trail begins: a descent of about 9 km, long, technical and spectacular up to Verzi di Loano. The trail is characterized by a particularly rocky bottom where the biker passionate about technical terrain will surely find himself at ease.

From Verzi, we take the last part of the Castagna trail, the path is Top next to the Nimbalto stream with beautiful steps on rock and wooden bridges reaching Verzi village.

Downhill transfer on asphalt to Loano for lunch break.

In the afternoon only downhill, by choice (based on energy left, customer requests and trail conditions) one of the trails on Madonna della Giardia.

CIAPIN TRAIL to VAL NAVA

Characterized by a wild and prehistoric environment, the Nava Valley is an ancestral valley hidden between Boragni and Val Cornei. The rock walls and the famous Strapatente cave make this area a peculiarity of the entire Finale. Welcome to the "Jurassic Park"!

Shuttle of about 40 minutes up to NATO Base (1019m s.l.m.). Take the path to Colla Cravarezza, uphill for a few tens of meters onto the Crestino trail (stage EWS 2016). Easy flow and fast trail, some berms and jumps characterize the first part, then gradually, the trail becomes steeper and more technical without exceeding an S2 + level.

At the junction with the Engineer's trail, we turn left for a pleasant transfer on a forest road to reach the central sector of the Supergroppo (stage EWS 2014). Once we arrive near the Cascina Strà we leave the Supergroppo to reach the Ciapin trail (stage EWS 2015) in just a few meters. Super fun and easy trail with 2 small double jumps in the middle and a series of berms until we reach Orco (350m s.l.m.).

Short transfer uphill to the cemetery, from where the last morning trail starts, the Val Nava trail (stage EWS 2017), which we will ride down to Boragni, the first part fast and wide, the second part narrow and technical with passages on rock S3.
From here return downhill on asphalt to Finale for lunch break.

At 2.00 pm shuttle for afternoon lift to the NATO Base.

PIETRA NATURAL 1 - ENDURO

The Colle del Melogno (1028m o.s.l.) witnessed many battles between the french and the austrian army in 1795 and was built as a barrier by the italian army one century later. It had an important role of defence and protection. Now it stands as the starting point for amazing tours deep in the Barbottina's beech wood.

40-minute shuttle to the Colle del Melogno. We take the Alta Via dei Monti Liguri path and follow it for about 40 minutes, it is 11 km (up and down with 200m elevation gain) up to Giogo di Giustenice (1143m asl) all immersed in one of the most well preserved beechwoods of Liguria.

Short pause and then we take the Oltrefinale trail mainly downhill towards the Pian delle Bosse refuge: first part side mountain trail with natural technical passages on roots, then rocky in the central part and flow in the final ending in the Ranzi area (250 m s.l.m.).

The last path of the morning, the Gabri trail that we need, through amusing passages in the chestnut wood with a view over the whole Maremola valley, down to the restaurant where we can taste the typical Ligurian dishes.

Finished lunch, urban downhill inside the old village of Ranzi, a characteristic Ligurian village overlooking the sea, which will take us to the heart of the splendid Pietra Ligure where we will find a shuttle for the afternoon shuttle to the NATO Base.

In the afternoon only downhill, by choice (based on energy left, customer requests and conditions traveled) one of the flows traveled by the NATO base.

Return to Finale approx. at 16.00 / 17.00

PIETRA NATURAL 2 - ENDURO

The Colle del Melogno (1028m asl) witnessed many battles between the french and the austrian army in 1795 and was built as a barrier by the italian army one century later.

Short pause and then we take the Hiroshima trail mainly downhill until the first fire road: a completely natural narrow trail with some steep downhill ramps.

Arrived at the first gravel road we turn right to take the Uranio trail (area with the presence of deposits of some secondary uranium derivatives) it is just a transfer up and down with counter-slope passages towards the Titalana trail, one of the more enjoyable trails of the Pietra Ligure area: compressions, berms, natural toboggans and quick changes of direction until we reach the Ranzi area (250m asl).

The last single track of the morning is the Fieno trail that will take us, through rocky passages and switchbacks with a wonderful view of the Loano harbor, to the restaurant where we can taste the typical Ligurian dishes.

After the lunch break, urban downhill inside the old village of Ranzi, a characteristic Ligurian village overlooking the sea, up to the heart of the splendid Pietra Ligure where we will find a shuttle to the NATO Base awaiting us.

In the afternoon only downhill, by choice (based on energy left, customer requests and trail conditions) one of the flow trails from the NATO base.
